The Story Behind Our Millennial Collection

The Story Behind Our Millennial Collection

The Story Behind Our Millennial Collection

When we first started planning Moss & Mac, we knew exactly what our first collection was going to be.

It wasn't a trend-led collection or something inspired by what was popular at the time. It came from something much closer to home – our own lives and the people around us.

The Millennial Collection was born from countless conversations where we'd find ourselves laughing about how different life looks now compared to our twenties.

Back then, weekends were a completely different story.

A good weekend usually involved staying out far too late, drinking far too much and somehow convincing yourself that a two-day hangover was a perfectly reasonable trade-off for a good night out. Sleep was optional, recovery wasn't really a thing and if someone suggested getting up early on a Saturday morning, they would have been laughed out of the room.

Fast forward a few years and things have changed. Not because we've become boring. Not because we've stopped enjoying ourselves. But because we've discovered different ways to have fun.

The reality is that many of us still crave adventure, excitement and experiences just as much as we always did. We've simply found healthier, happier and arguably more sustainable ways to get them.

These days you'll find us climbing instead of clubbing. Paddle boarding instead of sinking pints. Running instead of raving. And replacing comedowns with entirely unreasonable amounts of coffee. Honestly, the coffee consumption is becoming a concern. But we're choosing not to address that right now.

What we realised is that so many people in our generation have gone through the same shift. We've swapped late nights for early starts, city centres for mountain paths and crowded bars for fresh air and open spaces.

The funny thing is, we don't feel like we've lost anything. If anything, we've gained more. We've gained hobbies that make us feel good. We've gained weekends that leave us feeling energised rather than exhausted. We've gained experiences we'll actually remember.

And we've gained a much greater appreciation for the simple things – a great walk, a strong coffee, a road trip with friends, a family day outdoors or finding a new place to explore.

The Millennial Collection celebrates exactly that.

It's a collection for the people who recognise that growing up doesn't mean giving up on fun. It simply means redefining what fun looks like. It's for the runners who used to be ravers. The climbers who used to be clubbers. The paddle boarders who used to be pub regulars.

The hikers, coffee lovers, campers, adventurers and weekend explorers who still want to make the most of every day off.

Most importantly, it's for people who don't take themselves too seriously.

Because let's be honest, we've all looked at our younger selves and wondered how on earth we managed to function on two hours of sleep and a packet of crisps.

Nowadays we'll happily be in bed by ten o'clock if it means we're up early enough for a coffee stop and a day outdoors.

And we're absolutely fine with that.

The Millennial Collection is fun, relatable and unapologetically honest. It reflects who we are, who our friends are and who so many of our customers are.

People who still love adventure. People who still love making memories. People who still say yes to experiences. Just with slightly better footwear, considerably more coffee and a much earlier bedtime.

Welcome to the Millennial Collection. We have a feeling you're going to see a little bit of yourself in it.
